If you are ready for a change now is a great time to do it! What a better way to revamp your look than by rocking a stylish bob, and for a good cause too.

At Haven we support Locks of Love, a nonprofit organization that helps financially disadvantaged children under 21 in the United States and Canada who suffer from long term hair loss from any diagnosis. Locks of Love provides much more than a wig to children who are in need. Their mission statement tells of the support they provide:

Our mission is to return a sense of self, confidence, and normalcy to children suffering from hair loss by utilizing donated ponytails to provide the highest quality hair prosthetics to financially disadvantaged children.

Each donated ponytail must be at least 8″ in length and be non-highlighted. Hair that has been colored will be accepted. We will send the hair to Locks of Love for any Haven guest that chooses to donate. Once the hair has been received you will receive a certificate in the mail.

Spring break season is fast approaching, whether you are jet setting across the country or staying close to home you can master the look of spring break hair with these tips from Haven stylist, Courtney Wunder.

“Bumble and bumble surf spray is the key, ” reveals Courtney “you can use the product after you shower or hop out of the pool or ocean to give yourself a style without effort.”

When you’re on the beach the last thing you want to do is spend hours in front of the mirror flat ironing your locks. Surf spray is easy — leave it in your beach bag so it’s always handy.

“Take your towel and give your hair a little scrunch,” says Courtney, “Then apply 10-15 sprays of the Bb. surf spray and you’re good to go.” This style gives your hair a tousled, beach worthy look.

On this day we honor the service and life mission of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by remembering the passion he had for helping others and bettering our community, then adopting this goal as our own.

At Haven we are so thankful for the opportunities we have to serve not only our guests, but also our community. We are blessed to have the change to make a difference each day, no matter how big or small our impact may be.

We are eager to continue to serve your salon, spa, and wellness needs on a daily basis, we are also looking forward to the upcoming charity events we are participating in.

On February 10 Haven will be participating in the St. Norbert College Men’s Hockey Game “Red Out” benefiting the American Heart Association. Haven has done much work with the Heart Association in the past including participating as a Heart Walk team, raising money for the non-profit organization, and participating in the annual “Wear Red Day.” To join Haven in the fight against heart disease, our Nation’s No. 1 killer, attend the SNC Red Out on Feb. 10, 7:00pm at Cornerstone Ice Arena. Wear red and purchase a red hair streak from one of the Haven stylists while at the game!

June 9th will mark the 3rd Toast to Success Benefit, supporting Packer’s Wide Receiver James Jones and his wife Tamika’s charity: Love Jones 4 Kids. The event will be hosted at Haven, raising money through silent and live auctions as well as raffle tickets to benefit the needs of homeless children in Green Bay, WI. The mission of Love Jones 4 Kids shows what an impact the funds raised at this event will make:

The Love Jones 4 Kids Foundation’s goal is to enrich the lives of children living in disadvantaged and underserved communities by conducting and sponsoring a variety of programs to help young people overcome obstacles, stay in school, and prepare for challenges in life.

Golden House Gifts

Community is important to Haven. We try to give back to the community that supports us year round. Currently we are collecting donations for Golden House, a local shelter for domestic abuse victims.

Golden House offers many services besides just a live-in residency, which helps to positively impact the lives of many women, men, and children in our area. Safety and education about domestic violence abuse prevention are core staples in Golden House’s work.

The mission of Golden House is

To provide a dignified sanctuary, supportive intervention and advocacy services to victims of domestic violence within Brown County and the surrounding region. As a non-profit agency, Golden Hosue strives to eliminate domestic violence from our community by:

Working cooperatively with other agencies and community resources.

Providing shelter, crisis intervention, legal advocacy, support groups, and information and referral services.

Educating our community regarding the prevalence, effects, and prevention of domestic violence.

Get Goldwell Glam

Yesterday, the stylists at Haven participated in a private, in-salon training session with Chris Hitchcock from Goldwell. The stylists refreshed their knowledge of the color line we use at Haven in addition to learning about Goldwell’s recent additions: New blondes and Cool browns.

“I love the shine, the wide range of colors, and the opportunities to create so many different looks that Goldwell provides” says Liza Thibodeau, master stylist at Haven.

During this training session the stylists learned how the New blonde color works to “break the base” of someone’s natural color to make their highlights pop even more.

This service is an express root retouch that takes only 5 minutes so any one’s rocking blonde highlights can be even more glam.

The Cool brown collection has three new shade families: pearly couture browns, matte couture browns, and smokey couture browns. Cool browns are in this season, Goldwell has perfectly mixed a variety of colors to help our stylists match the perfect brown for you.

Music from Bay City Swing will be featured as well as a cocktail hour, dinner, and a live auction.
